Weed, Walk & Talk

Since day one, gardening enthusiasts and the surrounding community have been passionate about Heronswood and have looked for ways to help with restoration goals.

Weed, Walk, & Talk is a volunteer event that provides a little education and fun for those willing to give a little of their time. The event begins with work in the garden under the direction of Heronswood co-founder Dan Hinkley or another avid plantsman. Volunteers bring their own gloves and favorite hand tool to help with weeding, planting, or assisting with other gardening tasks. After a brown bag lunch at noon, all enjoy an informational walk and talk.

This event is free to anyone who can donate a few hours of volunteer time. Those wanting to attend just the “walk” and “talk” portions of the program are asked for a $40 donation to benefit restoration efforts.
